Company gets approval on patent for exciting new threshold product, EZ Over Threshold DELRAY BEACH, FL, January 13, 2006 – ADA Accessible Thresholds, Inc., a company developing a unique sliding door threshold, announced today patent approval from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The Miami – Dade building code calls for a threshold that is often several inches high and impossible to clear in a wheel chair. Additionally, many people fall over the threshold creating a “Trip Hazard”. The EZ Over Threshold solves this dilemma and Rather than sticking up several inches like so many in Florida, the EZ Over moves out of the way with the sliding door. Thus, providing an unobstructed passageway when open and a water-tight hurricane tested seal when closed. The sliding threshold is set to take on ramps and other ADA approved devices used to help people (especially those in wheelchairs) clear raised thresholds in their homes. “We expect our unique product to be embraced by homeowners and builders alike,” says inventor C. Walter Kline of Delray Beach, FL. “It is far superior to existing threshold-clearing products and offers a cleaner, more compact design.”
